First Earthquake

Evan experienced his first earthquake this afternoon.  It was a magnitude of 7.2, centered in Baja California.  Daddy felt the shaking first, and saw the computer moving, but assumed it was the neighbors letting their Easter festivities get a bit rowdy. But soon, Grandma Barby, Mommy and Daddy realized it was an earthquake as they felt the ground shake, and noticed the light and the jumperoo moving. Poor little Tink was scared as well and started shaking. Baby in arms, Mommy shouted “Grab the dog, get in a doorway!”  Luckily, the shaking only lasted a minute or so, and the only thing that fell was the Wii fit balance board, that was propped against a wall.  And, as Grandma, Mommy and Daddy clambered to the doorway in a bit of a panic, Evan gazed around wide-eyed and smiling.  What an experience!

Thanks for letting us know you are all OK. I guess there is a first time for everything so now Evan is a seasoned Californian …glad it didn’t cause him any distress.

It is quite a sensation with all that shaking. One of the latest I heard about a quake is to get on the floor right next to the sofa or on the floor next to the bed. It creates a slanted area.
