Tuesday, December 4th, 2012

I made pancakes with Evan this morning and I asked him if he wanted a mickey pancake. I made him one and he said, “I want pants and Mickey shoes”

Photography Business

Monday, November 26th, 2012

Becky’s been very busy lately taking lots of pictures of precious little babies for Captured With Care Photography.  She’s had several sets of twins recently and redesigned her site.  I love all the results she’s been getting lately. Check it out!

Evan says he’s ready…

President

Wednesday, November 7th, 2012

We were watching the returns from the Presidential election last night.

Mommy: “Evan who do you want to be President? Obama or Romney?”

Evan: “Umm… Nana”

Not a Painter

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012

Evan continues to refuse to paint at preschool.  I think he’s decided it is just too messy.   His class has 8 kids, so on his class room wall there are 7 paintings and 1 crayon drawing. :o)

Fingers Crossed

Saturday, October 13th, 2012

We were waiting in line for the Bus tour at the Zoo. I told Evan that we might not make it on the bus that was ready, since there were so many people in front of us, but if we didn’t make it, then we would get on the next bus in a few minutes. Then I said, “Cross your fingers.” He said, “I don’t want to cross my fingers, I want to get on the bus!”

Swimming

Saturday, October 13th, 2012

Evan has been enjoying another round of swimming lessons with Mr. Mike at Floaties Swim School. He’s been learning to go under water, the safety circle and is starting to learn how to paddle, but he’s really got the after swim look and routine down with the Starbuck’s hot chocolate.

Hug

Sunday, October 7th, 2012

When Evan woke up from a late nap:

Mommy: Do you want mommy to lay down with you or do you want to get up?

Evan: (in the sweetest most pitiful voice) I just want a hug.

Evan:  Where’s Daddy?

Mommy: He went to pick up dinner.

Evan: Is he coming back or not?

Tired Parents

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012

A few weeks ago, Daddy came home and crashed on the couch. Mommy, started giving him a hard time and a friendly argument ensued about who was more tired. Evan piped in, “Let Daddy sleep, he’s tired.” Mommy said, “What about Mommy?” Evan said, “There’s room on the floor.”

Zoo with Friends

Saturday, September 8th, 2012

Evan went to the zoo a few days ago with his buddies Kyle and Lily and another little girl. Apparently they were all little angels with no big fights or tantrums and all let each other pick which animals to go see next.  Evan has been talking about his trip to the zoo with Lily and Kyle a lot lately. It sounds like a good time was had by all. Evan got to see the Tigers he wanted to see and they all caught a glimpse of the baby Jaguar cubs.

Bedtime Procrastination

Sunday, September 2nd, 2012

We did our bedtime routine as usual tonight and said goodnight to Evan.  Then the announcements started every couple of minutes:

“Daddy… I want a hug and a kiss”

“Daddy… I want you to sit on the couch”

“Daddy… did you already pick up my toys?”

“Daddy… I have to go potty”

“Daddy… I’m thirsty”

“Daddy… I have to go poop”

“Daddy… this toy in my room belongs in the living room, can you take it?”

“Daddy… I want that bathroom light off”

Then, he started taking his jammies off saying, “Daddy… I’m so hot” and he stripped down to his underwear. About 30 seconds later he said, “Daddy… I’m so cold, I need my jammies on,” giving me a big shiver.  I couldn’t help but laugh.
