Tub of Toys

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

One of Evan’s favorite activities right now is climbing into one of his toy tubs and asking Mommy or Daddy to fill it up! He is very particular about which toys can join him. He always points to all his balls, and most of his stuffed animals, but never wants Cookie Monster. He also always wants Tink in there, but she won’t stay long.

Crazy Hair

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

Evan’s hair has grown quite a bit, and is looking a lot like Daddy’s when we don’t brush it. We took these pictures just after his bath and before bedtime. Look at those curls! We keep debating whether it’s time for a hair cut…but everyone tells us it’s sooo cute, and who are we to argue?

Urban Solace with Aunt Kristy

Friday, February 25th, 2011

On Sunday, before Superbowl kick-off, we took Aunt Kristy to the North Park farmer’s market. Then, we ate at one of our favorite brunch places, Urban Solace.  They didn’t have any straw cups for Evan, but our waiter was happy to create one using a coffee cup and 2 cocktail straws.  Evan really liked it!

Coronado with Aunt Kristy

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Aunt Kristy came down for a visit the first weekend in February.  On Saturday, we went to Coronado to play on the beach. Evan wasn’t too happy went he woke up from his nap and Daddy took of his shoes…it was cold…brrrr.  But once we put his shoes back on, he warmed up and had fun running around in the sand. He also enjoyed his very first hamburger and french fry at Burger Lounge….yum!

Hand Washing Fiend

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Evan has started to really enjoy hand washing time.  He wants to turn the knobs and if it gets a little too hot he says, “hot.”  The problem is that he never wants to stop washing his hands, so he gets really upset when hand washing time is over.  He must be his mother’s child to like hand washing that much!

Independence

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Evan and I were playing on the patio today with some balls and brooms.  At one point Evan decided he wanted to go off the patio to play on the grass.  He handed me both brooms, walked off the patio and closed the door, keeping Daddy on the patio.  When I opened the door and followed him, he turned around, grabbed my hand, walked me back to the patio, picked up both big brooms and handed them to me, then turned around off the patio and closed the door behind him again.  He’s not talking yet, but the message was pretty clear.  ”Daddy you stay here and sweep the patio, it obviously needs it… I’m going to go play on the grass.”

Zoo with Grandma Barby

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

We also took Grandma Barby to the San Diego Zoo while she was visiting.  This was our first trip to the zoo in a while, and the first time that Evan really took notice of the animals. We got lucky with the bears, who were really active for a change.  Evan liked the bears.  He also enjoyed the flamingos, the otters, the koala bears, and petting the goats at the children’s zoo.  We all narrowly escaped a giant spitting camel, which was exciting. Thanks again Grandma for coming to visit, we had a blast!

Beach with Grandma Barby

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Grandma Barby came to visit for a long weekend in late January. Evan has so much fun when she visits, they play together all day! We took her down to La Jolla Shores for an afternoon at the beach. Evan had so much fun running around chasing the gulls and kicking his ball.

Evan + Addison

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

We had the pleasure of photographing little baby Addison while in Sacramento over the holidays. She is the granddaughter of a close friend of the Hills, and such a cutie! During the shoot we decided to take a few of Evan and Addison together. They were sooo adorable together.  Addison was very affectionate…and kept trying to hug Evan.  What a little flirt!  We hope that these two will be able to play again in the future.  Too cute!

Fun at the Park

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

While in Sacramento, we enjoyed a visit to the park near Grandma and Grandpa Hill’s house. Along with Grandma and Grandpa Hill, Great Aunt Ree and Aunt Kristina joined us.  Evan had so much fun climbing on the playground equipment and going down the slide with Grandpa and Daddy. He also had fun running in circles with Ree and riding the swings and dinosaur.  Now, every time I take him to the park, he really wants me to swing on the swing next to him.

Evan must have remembered roaring at the open mouth of the tiger puppet, because he went right up to the open mouth of the dinosaur and roared. What a great outing!
