Oh My Gosh

Monday, December 26th, 2011

The other morning we all woke up and Evan had daddy sit on the couch next to him, then he told Mommy to sit too. Mommy said, “I need to go to the bathroom first, then I’ll come sit next to you, ok.”  Evan sighed and said, “Oh my gosh.”

I don’t know where he picked that one up!  I tried really hard not to laugh, but could only contain myself for a few seconds.

Peek-A-Boo Book

Friday, December 16th, 2011

This is Evan’s favorite book right now.  He loves spelling out all the animal names. He’s awesome at his upper case letters, and now he’s been working on his lower case letters with this book.

Airplane Ride

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

After Evan’s buddy Kyle came over today, Evan said, “I want to go in an airplane with Kyle.” Mommy asked, “Where do you want to go?” Evan said, “Up in the sky.”

Trick or Treat

Friday, November 25th, 2011

Evan had a ton of fun trick or treating this year!

Cat Cookies

Sunday, November 13th, 2011

This morning while we were getting the house ready for a photo shoot, Evan scored some Trader Joe’s cat shaped cookies after being helpful cleaning up.  Then, Evan & Daddy made a quick trip to Target to pick some things up.  On our way back, I told Evan we were headed back home and he said, “I miss Mommy, and Doggy, and Cat Cookies!”

Fire Alarm

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

The battery of our Fire Alarm started to run low right after Evan went to bed tonight.  The alarm let out a super loud chirp, scaring the poor boy.  He hurried out of his room, and said, “What was that noise, Daddy?”  I told him everything was ok, it was the fire alarm.  He said, “Fire Alarm, Run outside?”  Becky and I looked at each other in amazement.  Where the heck did he pick that up?  We asked him if his teacher told him that and he said no.  The only other thing we can think of is that he saw it on Sesame St. or Curious George, but we don’t recall watching an episode addressing that.  So, whoever taught him that, thank you. :)

Silly Time

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

The last two days while Evan and Daddy have been playing, Daddy would do something silly, that Evan thought was funny, and then Evan came up with something silly for Daddy to react to, leading to long sessions of goofiness and laughter. :o)  Yesterday, Daddy would hide under the covers and when Evan said,  ”babaBA,” Daddy popped out and looked at him silly.  He thought it was hilarious and threw himself backwards in laughter.  Today, while laying on his bed, Evan was rolling around and Daddy said “Holy Guacamole!” to great laughter.   Then, Evan started kicking his legs up in the air, and would get a big, “Hoooly Waaaalk-a-Moly” with a big tickle.  When the tickle was over, Evan started a big serious stare down with Daddy, until he started kicking again and laughing hysterically as he was tickled from head to toe.  After lunch Evan marched Daddy into his bedroom, climbed up on his bed and said, “Guacamole!” :)

Lucky Dog

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

Evan knows that he’s not supposed to drop food on the floor for the dog.  But, he has figured out that if he takes a big handful of food and some of it “accidentally” falls on the floor while he’s eating it, his parents don’t get upset with him.  Tonight he took a HUGE handful of rice, and as he had it to his mouth, a lot of rice was falling onto his lap and the floor.  When he moved his hand away, I asked him to say “ahhh.”  He opened his mouth and there wasn’t a single grain of rice in his mouth!  He really sold it too, he was moving his mouth and making yummy noises.   Stinker!

I Love You

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

Evan crawled on top of me in bed this morning and said, “I love you, Daddy,” and gave me a big hug.  Then he crawled over to Mommy and said, “I love you, Mommy,” and gave her a big hug too.  It was the first time, we’d heard him say that. :)
