We have had an incredible year watching Evan grow into a fun-loving happy toddler. :)  Last year about this time Evan wasn’t sitting up, crawling or eating solids.  Now he is running all over the place, communicating his desires to us and discovering how things work in this world of ours. He has a heart melting smile, loves to laugh and share and it’s been so rewarding watching him learn new things every day.

We’ve enjoyed having lots of visitors down in San Diego and we made a few trips with Evan this year to Lake Tahoe, Death Valley, Erik’s family’s Cabin in Utah, Arches NP, Mesa Verde NP, Monument Valley, Durango, CO and Denver. Evan was a super trooper on some long car rides and in the airplane.  He had a  ton of fun seeing a lot of new places and meeting new people.

We’re very excited for the holiday season this year.  Evan will be a great age for Christmas this year. :o)

Wishing you all health and happiness in the coming year.

Christmas Tree Farm

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

Before Grandma and Grandpa Bell left, we took Evan to the Christmas tree farm to pick out a tree. Evan’s favorite part was the large push cart and the cut-off tree stumps.  He must have remembered the wheelbarrows from the pumpkin patch, because he went straight to the handles of the cart, grabbed them, and tried to push.  It was very cute. Then he went and gathered several of the stumps, and stacked them on the cart.  Stacking is a new skill of his, and it was fun to watch him stack and unstack the little pieces of wood.

Beach with the Bells

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we headed to La Jolla shores to enjoy the warmth of the sunny day at the beach. Evan had so much fun running around in the sand. He constantly runs straight for the water and then smiles big when Daddy chases him down and swings him up and out of the surf just before the water gets him.

Grandma Barby and Grandpa Bob came down for Thanksgiving.  We didn’t take a lot of pictures on the day, but here are a few playing around the house. We enjoyed watching the parade and then a meal of roast chicken with all the Thanksgiving fixings.  Evan really enjoyed the sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and chicken. We gave him his first taste of whipped cream, but he didn’t seem to enjoy it….silly boy.

Hill Family Visit

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Grandma & Grandpa Hill traveled down to San Diego with Aunt Kristina the other weekend for a visit.  It was nice to all get together, since we weren’t going to see them for Thanksgiving this year. The weather and nap schedules kept us inside for most of their visit, but we all had a lot of fun.  The last time Grandma and Grandpa saw him, Evan was barely walking on his own and only between people, but now he is all over the place!

Evan had fun showing off all his toys, stacking his blocks, walking around and around the dining room table, pulling people around and doing the Elmo slide with everyone!  That is his favorite video right now.  He got everyone flapping their arms and sliding around the condo. :)

Grandma & Grandpa treated us all to Roy’s.  yummy!  It wasn’t Evan’s best behaved dinner out, he just wanted to walk around, even when they brought him his very own plate of food, but we all traded off walking him and we enjoyed it very much.

Mommy and Daddy somehow didn’t take any pictures, but Grandma took a few that we are including here.  We took some video here.  Just wish we had some footage of everyone doing the Elmo slide!
