Lunch Time

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

For the past couple of weeks, Evan has only been interested in feeding himself.  He now eats mostly diced veggies, fruits, and pasta.  His favorite is still cheese, but he also seems to really like green peas, blueberries, cherries, steamed carrots, shell pasta, and sometimes broccoli. Lately, I have been making him whole wheat/flax/applesauce waffles; which he seems to love, and has been eating nearly everyday for breakfast.  Here are a few pics of him chowing on broccoli and pasta.

1st Birthday Party – San Diego

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

We had fun at Evan’s 1st Birthday party this past Saturday at our condo’s pool and clubhouse.  It was pretty laid back, just a few neighbors and friends.  Mommy and Daddy made lots of yummy food and monster cupcakes.  Evan had a blast swimming with his Auntie Kristy and Daddy.  He and his little buddies, Maya, Zion, Dylan and Ayla had fun playing with the swimming wind-up toys and squirters that Mommy put in their party bags.  We were very happy that both aunties were able to make the trip down for the party!  Evan had an amazing time opening his presents and playing with the tissue paper, as usual.  Thanks everyone for coming out!

Balboa Park

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

The other weekend we went to spend the day at Balboa Park.  Evan had a great time playing in the rose and cactus gardens.  He also enjoyed a turtle and tortoise showing that was happening.  Mommy and Daddy enjoyed photographing all of the amazing flowers and fountains, as well as watching Evan discover new things.

Video Update

videos here

We’ve gotten a bit behind on posting videos, so here are a few.  The day after we got back from Evan’s party in Placerville where Evan saw Dylan crawling, he decided to try it out too. But, he decided that his army crawl method gets him around faster. Every once in a while he’ll crawl on his hands and knees now, but he likes his belly method much better. He also figured out that he could scale the refrigerator to get more magnets that he loves to pull off if Daddy is close enough to the fridge. :o) He has started holding a big boy cup and drinking all by himself!  And, about 3 days ago, Evan mustered up the courage to take some steps on his own from the couch to Daddy!!!
