Evan decided he is ready to text people. He said he was going to text, and started writing letters down on a paper. We asked who he was texting and he said, “All the girls”

Getting Older

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

Evan looked over to Mommy today and said, “Mommy, I’m getting older and older.”

I can’t sleep

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Today after a long nap walk, Becky laid down with Evan to help him stay asleep after transferring him from the stroller to his bed.  About five minutes later, Evan sat up and said, “Mommy, I can’t sleep.  I’m awake because my eyes are open.”

Worried Baby

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

Evan was looking at some of the baby pictures Becky took recently and told her that one of the babies looked worried. He was right, the baby did look worried.

OK Mommy!

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

One of Evan’s favorite phrases right now is “OK Mommy!”
He says it when he has decided to do something, and he says “OK Mommy!” with a little attitude, like “I’m doing this, do you have some sort of problem with that?”

Favorite Phrases

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

“How ’bout me too?” is his favorite phrase right now.
Whenever an adult he’s playing with needs to go somewhere or do something, Evan inevitably says, “How ’bout me too?”

He likes to say:
What are you talking about!?

You’re so funny!

“Yummy in the Bummy,” when something tastes really good.

“eww… that’s gross” – thanks aunt kristy

Let’s do it!

What was that noise?

Oh My Gosh

Monday, December 26th, 2011

The other morning we all woke up and Evan had daddy sit on the couch next to him, then he told Mommy to sit too. Mommy said, “I need to go to the bathroom first, then I’ll come sit next to you, ok.”  Evan sighed and said, “Oh my gosh.”

I don’t know where he picked that one up!  I tried really hard not to laugh, but could only contain myself for a few seconds.

Airplane Ride

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

After Evan’s buddy Kyle came over today, Evan said, “I want to go in an airplane with Kyle.” Mommy asked, “Where do you want to go?” Evan said, “Up in the sky.”

It’s Mine!

Monday, October 24th, 2011

It’s Mine Time.  Credit goes to preschool, they even gave us a copy of the toddler’s creed at his first teacher’s conference.  So, he doesn’t share quite as well as he used to, but it is probably a good developmental milestone.  He needs to know that some things are his and he deserves a turn with shared toys, etc.  He will still share sometimes, but he definitely knows how to say, “It’s Mine!’

I Miss Daddy

Friday, October 21st, 2011

Evan and Daddy had a lot of fun playing with the Meerkats and Mr. Potato head this morning. After Daddy had to go to work, Evan came up to Mommy and said, “I miss Daddy.”

Go to work Daddy

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

Daddy had to work late on Tuesday and missed the bedtime routine and Evan didn’t exactly go to sleep with Mommy putting him down, so he was still up past 9:30 pm, when Daddy got home. The next night, after our goodnight song and right before we say goodnight to Mommy and head to bed, Evan said, “Go to work, Daddy.”

Preschool Right Now

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Evan had another good day at preschool today. :)  So, we’re pretty confident at this point that it is all going to work out.  Here’s a video of him from the night before, ready to go!
