Evan Story Time

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

The evening after Daddy read a story to Evan’s class, Evan arranged a bunch of chairs in the living room, sat down an audience of stuffed bears and wanted to read them some stories, including the book Daddy read.

Story for Bear

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

Evan encourages his Bear to read a dinosaur book, then plops the Bear on his lap and reads the book to him.  Earlier in the day, Daddy read a story to Evan’s class.

Goodnight Moon

Monday, April 30th, 2012

After two and a half years of Daddy reciting Goodnight Moon every night before bed, tonight Evan decided to squeeze Daddy’s nose while he was reciting the book.  The most hysterical laughter ensued, when Daddy’s voice sounded weird.  There’s nothing like two years of routine to setup a joke.  He laughed insanely hard!

Baseball with Daddy

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Daddy was tossing the ball for Evan to hit today, when all of a sudden he wanted to stop and said, “I’ll be right back!”  He ran inside to ask Mommy for something.  He came back outside with one of his plastic dinner plates, placed it on the ground, then picked his bat back up, leaned over the plate and said, “Ok Daddy, I’m ready”

Zion’s Birthday party

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

This morning we told Evan that we would be going to Zion’s birthday party at 2pm. He got all excited, and was singing the Happy Birthday song all day long, (even now as he’s supposed to be sleeping). He had a blast with the bouncy house, the animal hunt, Zion’s battery powered 4-wheeler, the pinata, the pizza, and his very own cupcake piled high with frosting. We had to pull him from the bouncy house when it was finally time to go.
After the party we got a message from Zion’s Mom. She said after everyone had left, she asked Zion what his favorite thing was today, probably hoping to hear one of the many things she had worked hard on to get together for his birthday. Zion responded, “Evan.”

Chicago

Monday, March 12th, 2012

We had a fun filled trip to Chicago for 5 days to celebrate Jared & Sieana’s wedding (Jared is Becky’s cousin).  Evan was the life of the party, dancing the night away and not letting any of the adults sit down for a rest.  He had a slight advantage over the other kids, since we kept him on California time.

On our way to the airport, Evan became unsure about traveling in the airplane, when Mommy asked him why he said, “It’s too high.”  But, Evan did great both there and back largely in part to the iPad which was loaded with games and Curious George videos.  When we got to the hotel, Evan spent about an hour testing out the bed. (video below)

Chicago has a fantastic Children’s museum that we enjoyed with Nana and Aunt Kristy.  Evan devoured some authentic Chicago Style pizza and enjoyed meeting and hanging out with all his cousins.

We’ve got pictures we want to post, hopefully sometime soon, but here is a video of Evan testing out the fun level of the hotel bed.
